Project Overview

The purpose of this project was to think of what some current companies will be designing in the future.

I worked on the idea of designing an alternative device for people that use Continuous Glucose Monitor systems (CGMs). I noticed that not all users are the same, therefore having a device that has the flexibility to be worn as a watch or a ring was important for my future vision of a CGMs.

Pain Points

1

To have a painless experience when placing a CGM system to the body.

2

Being able to read glucose levels thats easy for adults and to childern.

3

To have a CGMs that doesn't feel like
a medical device, rather exciting
and fashionable.

Persona

This persona was important to my design process. Through this persona I realized that there was a market for people that struggle from anxiety and changes to their everyday activities.

Solution

I found it difficult to connect your CGMs device in other products UI.

My solution was to make it easy to follow with illustration and east to follow instructions.

Interchangeable

One of the pain point for CGMs is that they are not a one size fits all product.

For children this flexibility of being able to change CGMs from a watch to a ring by simply changing a sensor can play a major upside for the child and parents.

Reading Glucose Levels

To understand the state of where your glucose levels lie. The UI interface changes from blue, purple, or red depending on your current state.

This allows patients to easy understand this glucose and how to best manage it,.

Alerts

Users will also receive notifications when glucose levels are out of range, purple for low, and red for high.

Insulin Intake

The watch gives patients an advantage to monitoring their glucose levels. Having the ability to view and manage their insulin at the same time is important to the patient experience.

Process

To understand where my idea was heading I had to examine current technologies and see where I could possibly be an innovator.

It was also important to see how a patient would interact with my design.
It helped me see where I could improve and make changes for a better user flow.

Sketches

When designing a logo, I used words that I wanted to associate my brand with. I wanted the logo to have a free light organic feel to it.
