Project Overview

For this brand identity project I decided to rebrand the existing site Craft in America to CraftX. I combined the idea of craft and textile and designed a logo that resembles that of a close up of weaving pattern.

Designing this website was a reflection of the brand identity I had developed for CraftX. In addition, I had to make sure that whoever accessed the website they would navigate it with ease. The type treatment and colors I used where in line with the brand guidelines I developed along the process of this identity.
The idea behind these posters was to make them type driven. I used the X mark various ways, used it as a repetitive pattern to further emphasis the many applications of craft making.
The book is designed for a micro brand featuring artist Syd Carpenter. I designed a font that was inspired by a sculpture of Syd Carpenter. View spreads from book.
I also thought of how an environmental piece would function at the location.
Different artist work would be displayed here as a way to get people interested in coming in.
I designed this font with the influence of a sculpture that Syd Carpenter created.
I used colors that conveyed a sense of nature, a theme that Syd Carpenter often refers to in her projects.
The structure that I used to develop my font was used as a pattern.
